Fever, chills and Duck Friends

So, this blog has gone from an attempt to document my day to day delvings into vintage style to some sort of odd online sickness tracker.
I've got the flu- going on day 5 now.
5 days where the biggest thing I've done is move from my bed to the couch without feeling like I was going to pass out. In all hopes, I'm on the backside of this and will be back in working order soon. But until then, I'm stuck inside with little to do except troll the internet. And my word, nothing is worse for my bank account then sickness fueled etsy searches.
I've restrained myself so far from buying anything- oddly enough, even though I do the majority of my shopping online, I tend to be a very hesitant buyer. It usually takes a few days of fawning over the item and then another few day trying to find comparable lower cost versions before I actually buy anything.
It's only a matter of time though so perhaps there will be a little "package" post next week.

Photos? Yeah, I have a few shots from the mini trip I took last week with the family to Palm Springs. Not so much my ideal of vacation but really, any travel is nice. And the area was a big jet-set locale for the Rat Pack during the 60's so I suppose it sort of fits the "Formerly Vintage Activities" tag....

Socks: Not just for Feet Anymore

In my seemingly never ending quest for curly hair, I took another shot at the sock bun technique the other night. I had tried it before with disappointing results- mainly because my hair was just too short for the sock to curl correctly. Well, 3 inches and a few months later and I'm very pleased with the turnout.

Of course, it ended up raining yesterday so the curls were short lived but they were great while the lasted. The sock bun trick came from this adorable gal on youtube who has a few other neat hair videos.

Photos I never got around to posting: Or A Pacifying Post

Some pictures showing off this crazy San Diego winter weather- ahaha! A bunch of us meet up in Old Town and had a mini goodbye fest for DC. She traded all this for some San Francisco action and I miss her something awful!

Some photos from when I went to see the Silent Comedy boys play.  I was going to use these for a prep post but didn't end up taking enough of them to do it proper. The bow on the purse is a little trick I picked up from The Freelancers Fashion Blog.

Kitties and Day-Glo Jesus. Enjoy!
