The house is coming along- starting to feel more like a home. I've been hitting thrift stores like a mad woman and found some cool things like this vintage globe.
CJ's mom got us some ikea stuffs and now our books and records finally have a home. On the left- a washboard for our Southern themed housewarming party and a cardboard cutout of Colonel Sanders that CJ made.
I finally got my needlepoint framed and hung.
And the kitchen is now being watched over by the last supper. I've had that painting for 5 years- we found it hung up in my first apartment and it's had a place in every one since.
And our couch finally arrived! I was worried that it wouldn't get here in time to be Miss Eka's temporary bed. But it came in last week and she got into town yesterday so all is well.

Hello New Home
I'm in the middle of moving into a new apartment. CJ and I finally got serious about looking for places and found one in a week. It's be crazy and stressful and awesome. Most of the furniture is moved in- now it's just organizing and cleaning and building Ikea bookcases.
The living room is still in limbo as we are waiting for my amazing sofa to be delivered.
The girls have been hung and now finally my room feels well, like my room.
Hooks for purses? Why didn't I think of this before?
And a new rug from Ikea for super cheap. CJ said it looks like half an onion. I'm okay with that. I'm also dead tired- moving and working opening shifts just don't mix. There will be more to come.....

Miss Me?
I swear I haven't forgotten about Re Vamp- at least once a day I think "I really ought to get on a blog post."
And I'm in the thick of a whole lot of DIY stuff to update on but am to busy working said projects to post about them. Irony.
Also, work is kinda wackadoo right now and add to that prepping to move out (FINALLY!) and you've got a seriously neglected blog. Ok, enough excusing my absence.... here are some things to look forward to!
*Update on the headboard project.
*End results of the Picture Project.
*Home decor haul post with pretty photos of all the new junk I've bought for the apartment.
*Another installment of the "How to Be A Lady" guide!

Fun from Earlier in the Week
Sometimes it takes me half a week to post up photos- I'm pretty procrastinative to begin with and being sick doesn't help that any. (Yes, that is a made up word. Feel free to use it.)
So, let's pretend its tuesday morning and last night was spent with the CrayCrays at an art show at BLAH. It was an exhibit centered on camera phones and how they've changed the concept of photography. All pieces shot with camera phones and some were quite good. They were selling prints for $20!! and had I any money at all, I would have bought a neato little print that would have fit right into my Picture Project. Oh well. I should really finish that project before I start adding to it's workload.
Who needs Friends when you have an Amazing Dress? dress and my new favorite piece, the leather jacket.

Mister Postman, look and see
I've been doing a lot on online shopping lately and finally have some fun things to show for it. I'm still waiting on a few more packages (all fun things for my Halloween costume) But more on that when they get here.
This is an absolute score for me- good condition to boot.
Commissioned this on etsy- I always liked those little corny samplers and thought the Joanna Newsom lyrics were perfect for this one.
So many lovely socks!
Now that fall seems to be making it's arrival, these will come in handy.

It's so humid today-
Haven't had a chance to post this week- I've been up to my false eyelashes in preoccupations.
Selling a large chunk of my vintage wardrobe on The Fedora Lounge. Mostly shoes that never get to hit the pavement and dresses my size 16 ass will never fit back into.
OK little side note here (in which I'm going to betray all womankind and *gasp* revel my measurements!)
I'm a 43-32-42. A modern 16, roughly. Those same measurements back in the 1950's were a size 20. I never understood why sizes were shrunk over the decades. Was it so as women got chubbier, we didn't have to suffer the shame? I mean, really....Does wearing a modern 6 rather then a vintage 10 actually fool you into thinking you weight less then you do? Sheesh.
I digress. The mass sale has a two fold benefit. I get more closet space for new clothes and a little extra scratch to fund a new home decor piece I'm commissioning on etsy.
And now for some pictorial illustrations of the aforementioned points-
Now, what on earth could this end up being? 9,000 brownie points if anyone can pick up on the lyrical reference.
Newness to fill up that closet space- Mary Green camiknicker. Finally. It's been back ordered on dollhouse bettie for months now. I finally just canceled and ordered straight from M.G.
Arrived in 4 days.
I promise my next few posts will not include photos of me in my underwear :)

Haphazard
This past week I've been all over the board- so lets see how many tags I can hit in one post.
1. My main focus has been furnishing my soon to be apartment. A difficult task what with no money and no storage space. My newest want- this Hat Stand from Urban Outfitters. Which I must order online since I couldn't bare the sham of actually walking into an Urban Outfitter. Brrrhhh!
2. Ordered my 7th pair of Perfect heels from DSW- I had no choice since they finally re-issued them in blue and in the 4+ years that I've been dressing vintage, I have yet to own a pair of blue heels. I had to buy them.
3. Went to a party for the lovely EG on Friday. She officially quit her mundane job to become a yoga instructor. As if that's not awesome enough, there was a bounce house. I'm still sore today.
4. Found a thread on The Fedora Lounge that shows you how to use a vintage rotary phone off your cell line.
5. I've been thinking about Idyllwild quite a bit lately. Not really sure why, it's just been popping in my head this whole past week. And the more I think about it, the more I find all I want is to be back at the cabin again. I guess it makes sense- what with all the bullshit thats happened in the past month, getting over with The Fancy and pissing "friends" off and thinking too much on The Ex. Slowly but surely, I realize I'm being cut out of that group of people. And that's putting me in a really lonely state.
So, if I'm going to be lonely anyway, I might as well be lonely in the mountains.
What's that- 11 tags?
Not too shabby.

Sit on it!
In the midst of drinking coffee and trying to get my day back on track, (I know it's 6pm but the first half of the day involved lots of mimosas) I've been poking around the Internet looking at housewares.
I've got big plans for my new apartment, big expensive plans.
This will be the first new place for me that I'll be able to decorate how I want.
Today's preoccupation: sofas.
.
Teal Velvet Sofa from Horchow. Adore
Found this on craigslist- in my town- not in my price range.
so far....
Ethan Allen Whitaker Sofa- how amazing would this look in coral velvet?
Why not just go full antique?

At a loss for a title...
As promised, a bit on some decorating projects and other artsy things I've been up to lately.
Firstly- the results of ML and my trip to the art fusion studio. Which was ages ago, but I'm lazy and like to procrastinate. We made a pendant and a tile- I was feeling green that day and it's abound in my pieces.
ML and I have a thing for peacocks. Kinda peacock vibe right?
My bedroom photo project is slow going but I'm making some progress. Months ago, I bought a bunch of reprints of vintage postcards from the 20's. I decided they would be a great little art collage for when I move out. I've been trolling etsy.com and thrift stores, looking for frames and have found all but one. Once i have them all, I plan to sand them down, paint them copper and rose and complete my 30's boudoir vision.
Onto my righteous victory at the auction!
With a little liquor courage and some last minute bidding, I won my Mike Maxwell. Yay! More then I ought to spend but it's for a good cause and all. I also got a cute little framed feather deal. Which has a reserved spot on my vanity.
